Help me please!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone

As some of you may be aware, when I am at Angie's the computer I use to play mohaa has CI running on it as well. This causes me great problems with lag. :x

What is the minimum system requirement to run CI on a stand alone PC?? The ideas is to use an old PC that we have just for that and maybe for MSN as well.

Any help on this topic would be greatly welcome. :-D

CI requires very little processing power. You could run it OK on almost any old hardware. Whatever you run it on - it's still going to use some of your bandwidth to talk with the server. Running it on a different pc is the best way to minimise the lagging but you'll never do away with it completely.

Has a Genuine Pentium (r) II Processor; 8Gig H/drive; 128Meg Ram and Windows 98SE so should do the job ok. :-D

Sounds good.. All you'll need to do is cobble up a network connection and a baby monitor. Or it may be worth checking out KVM switches. Using a KVM you can share the screen, keyboard and mouse off your main pc.

I use a KVM. The problems going to be upload though I would say.What connection are you on? are you on NTL? if so the 1 meg is only 128 k upload enough to run 2 games 2 meg is 256 and the 10 meg (what im on ) is 600 k :)
If your on ADSL then I think the highest standard speed there is 128 but I stand to be corrected.CI will work fine on the pc but im not so sure about your bandwidth

Best thing to do with regards to C.I. if playing on that PC as well is to minimise C.I. down to your task bar whilst it is running this will reduce the lag your experiencing to some extent anyway.

Many thanks to all that have made suggestions. At present we run a seperate PC and monitor for CI and lag is minimal most times.
We plan, in time, to run the PC off a shared monitor but not a high priority.

I have to say tho that this PC eats monitors - it is on its third one in 6 months!!! ( could be cos I use really old ones that are free :-D)
