yup used to have this problem --drop down a couple of drivers for the graphics card
dont play the game in safe moide put it in normal mode
also change the intel chip driver (mine was intel processor) hope this helps change graphics drivers first and play in normal mode )
used to really do my head in playin for about 2 mins then goin back to desktop---grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

The chip you have is as you say,, a 3.4 but it's dual core
so it has two chips running @3.4 built into the same die
not like the old 3.4GHz hyper-threaded,, this was 1 chip split into 2
while one side of the chip was running something the other side was pre-empting the next instruction
This was the same idea as AMD only they called it hyper-transport
so you dont actually get 6.8 GHz you get an extremly bloody fast 3.4 that pre-empts the next set of instructions long before they are needed
and as inf@2para says try going back 1 version of the drivers for the g/card
I had this problem with 2, 6600gt's running in SLI,,, I just updated the drivers and found this problem too
So i un-installed the old drivers, removed all references to the drivers from the registry (you have to be careful with that bit) then re-installed the updated drivers from Nvidia (NOT THE DRIVERS THAT CAME WITH THE CARDS)
Hope this helps

Good tips but rolling back drivers doesn't always work (as I found out today) Some of the newer cards have OpenGL problems running some of the older games - I re-installed MOHAA this morning but this time I'm using an nVidia GeForce 7800 GTX (was running SLi'd 6600GT's previously with no probs using v93.71 drivers) So after install this morning - MOHAA would run fine but MOHAAS kept bombing out when loading. Poking around forums (swearing profusely) led to me to this wee gem;

In a nutshell, the nVidia Control Panel is cakk and this wee fellae lets you tweak away loads of settings not covered by nVidia. For those of you with similar problems, it's worth trying the tweak I had to do - changing the Driver Extension Limit (under Compatibility) for the Medal Of Honor profile. The nVidia default has it set to 1 but the forum guys recommended a setting of 11A8 and it's ticketyboo.
** NOTE **
You need .NET v2.0 installed for nHancer to work.
Kerberos.
You could try this. This dude takes normal Nvidia & ATI drivers and tweaks em for gamers. He fixes alot of these graphics problems with them too.

Hi Angie
See that
I had problems with recent drivers and 6600GTX. Following a suggestion from Sotko at CPS I used the nHancer program on my system and was able to play again.

Look at the second post here for Sotko's link and brief instructions. Worked for me.
