i get this all the time green square in bottom center of skreen as if map is changing . there is olny the game running on pc . done spy + virus and all clean . or yes cuts me off from the game .only just started last 2 nights

it only doing it on cps and bk server i played on another server last night and it was fine no time out :?

Have you upgraded your broadband to 8mb???


If so this is the problem.For some people DSL Max makes there phone line unstable,even though it may hold the upto 8mb speeds. :-(

Im having to down grade my line to normal 2mb DSL,because of this problem.

ntl upgraded my broadband to 4mb a few weeks ago . this time out started 2/3 day ago and getting lots of lag last night . the game if the only thing running on pc .

A couple of the guys have been moaning about lag since about tusday evening. I will try and route out the cause and get back to you.

erm probably sick of hearing this but make sure all drivers up to date ie graphics card chipset blah blah blah cause this used to happen to me all the time ---come the end of map the scores used to come up but used to st6ay like that for about 5mins before changing to next map!!
ended up changing afewe drivers and hey presto!!

PP over at CPS says this has only started since we put our other server over to Rifle-Only. I have temporarily disconnected our second (CPS) server to see if the situation improves.

How are you connecting to NTL?
Cable modem type..
Connection type (USB or NIC)
Are you connecting through a router, if so what type?

There are problems with some older NTL kit known, also with some older routers.

I was upgraded to 4MB on NTl about 6 months ago, still use the same modem as I got when first installed 2 years ago, so I think you can take the equation that it might be that.
NTL lines are Fibre Optic so can carry over 8mb with no problem.
I had a problem 18 months ago with very laggy servers, I asked for a engineer to come out he came the next day and put 2 signal conditioning filters on the back of my modem.
Give them a call.

I turned off our rifle server (which uses a hybid rifle mod) to see if that helped in any way. Can any of you reply here whether or not the lag and other issues were still present last evening please.

i was ok but certain maps which don't usually, gave others lag...........like drukkammern.
Others like Gus and Rich heard voices!!! :roll: at certain parts of the map!
This used to happen ,if you remember with Streets of Rome, and we eventually found 2 bods trapped under the map! and now dont use it as we thought that this might be the cause of other problems we were having at the time(Cannot remember what they were?)

The current issue with NTL related to the Terayon/Terajet cable modems. That's why I ask. Since the last round of NTL re-structuring and re-sectoring these modems no longer work reliably.
You have to call NTL support and tell them you want a replacement modem. Firmly. Insist it's a known issue and these CMs are being replaced with the model 250 modem.
