You're always so creative Scouse! Actually I mean to suggest this at CPS, I mean opening a world cup thread. I think it's a b****y good idea!
I was actually wondering what YOUR French Squad would be like..héhé...

any of you guys seen this?

CLICKY HERE (http://nikefootball.nike.com/nikefootball/siteshell/index_archive.jsp#,en,1;tiempo)

Watch Ronaldinho ttrying out his boots. The guy can hit the ball OFF THE CROSSBAR at will from outside the penalty area...

I thought it was fake at first, but it isn't!

That guy is incredible. No other word for it. And the fact that he plays every game with a grin on his face, is always so sporting and enjoys his football like a kid in the park makes him a true icon and legend. I love to watch him.

The commentators just said that tonight about him mate you're right. He's got this smile on his face when he misses a goal, a good example. He's remained a child on the pitch.
As for the video, I can't actually see the ball just before it hits the crossbar, just the sound of the ball hitting it that comes next.. Hmmmm.... Such accuracy looks NOT human..

For Ronaldinho AND ZIDANE lovers, watch this: http://www.koreus.com/modules/news/article3491.html

Great Link Hal. That was Murder on Zidane's Floor (get it? see what I did there? Boogie? Dance?)

I know what you mean about the sound of the ball, but it is a flash movie so the quality isnt great, and also you have to take into account the acoustics of the training ground, the echo would come later as the sound bounces around the ground.

Ok, I predict Brazil for the cup. England would be nice, but you have to admire the sportsmanship of Brazil ( I can't remember seeing any diving from them so far... more than can be said for the Argies for one!) and the Real Juego Bonito, the Beautiful Game.

It would be nice to see England win but I don't think we are consistent enough.

I was disappointed watching France and Henry is brilliant, but he didn't feature enough the other day.

I can't help but enjoy the flair and passion Brazil have for the game.

In terms of Patriotism, ENGLAND!

In terms of who I admire and think have the best chance? BRAZIL (as long as old chubby Ronaldo stays on the bench.. he's past it!)

Yep, agreed, French coach still looking for the right players at the right position, especially Ribery who was shouldering too heavy a burden of expectations yesterday, so Malouda should be back. Trezeguet should be back too. Apparently there was a unanimous complain from both sides about the heat yesterday... Now we need 2 wins against Togo and South Korea and we'll be through.. Feasable but manner will matter a lot too.

Good luck to England against T and Tobaggo for qualification. A match that shouldn't be taken too lightly, dunno if you saw their draw against Sweden... :-o

yes I did, i must admit we need to take both T&T and Sweden very seriously!

I agree Hal, it's late in the day to be playing about with players and positions like that though. and ys, bring back some of the big guns. vive la france!

i never thought i'd say that during the world cup!

Czech's look good for me,

Italy look like they can step up a gear, Argentina are solid.

Think Brazil look a bit out of sorts when under pressure.

Love the world cup, shame the us Scots weren't there to liven things up a bit !!

Go on Jason Scotland !!

German family head out one Saturday to do some shopping.

While in the sports shop the son picks up an England football shirt and says to his sister, "I've decided to be an England supporter and I would like this for my birthday."

His big sister is outraged by this and promptly whacks him round the head and says, "Go talk to your mother."

So off goes the little lad.

"Mum?"

"Yes son?"

"I've decided I'm going to be an England supporter and I would like this shirt for my birthday".

The mother is outraged at this, promptly whacks him around the head twice and says, "Go talk to your father."

Off he goes with the football shirt in hand and finds his father.

"Dad?"

"Yes son?"

"I've decided I'm going to be an England supporter and I would like this shirt for my birthday."

The father is outraged and promptly whacks his son around the head 4 times and says:

"No son of mine is ever going to be seen in THAT!"

About half an hour later they're all back in the car and heading towards home.

The father turns to his son and says;

"Son, I hope you've learned something today?"

The son says,

"Yes dad I have."

"Good son, what is it?"

The son replies,

"I've only been an England supporter for an hour and already I hate you German Bastxxds ! "

He He.

You Get A player that everyone Laughed about playing for England saying "He Should Not Be Going to Germany" & " What is Eriksson playing Him For?" in Owen Hargreaves. Yet he did dozen's of crunching challanges & got Booked in Extra time for Nothing.
Then you have A player that the whole Nation wanted to be there (even unfit) do nothing all through the game & get a Red card for his first challange.

Owen Hargeaves to me was the Man of the Match & Englands Player Of The Tournament!

Zidane aimed at the chest.
I personally went for his head.

he would have gone off along with Zidane but in an horizontal position and would have celebrated victory from hospital.

Has she installed FlashPlayer for FireFox? All the YouTube and Google videos use it.

If she goes here: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash
she can download the installer for it. Make sure she opens the link in FireFox though as that page autodetects the browser and it'll automatically offer you the version for whatever browser you're using.
